TIP: You should save a shortcut to the 'Revit 20#' folder using your preferred method (shortcut in Favorites, on the Desktop, in Places, etc.). In an empty model, create an in-place Generic Model.See also Working with IFC Files and Add-Ins#IFC. Link that Revit file in (instead of using the IFC file directly).TIP: Include 'IFC' in the name for clarity.NOTE: This will take a while (C191 took 25-30 minutes in R2020 for an 11.5 MB IFC file, etc.).NOTE: This doesn't appear to be needed for R2020 (20.2.1.0).

BEFORE OPENING, set the default template to a minimal OOTB one (such as 'Architectural').Check installed version in the Export dialog (in title or bottom left).

create a Revit model w/ the arch's export using the latest Revit version with a mature project template.
